The objective of the action is to contribute to enhancing entrepreneurship, internationalisation and competitiveness of newly established micro, small and medium-sized enterprises and potential new start-up entrepreneurs in the EU. The activity targets people intending to set up a business and, to a lesser extent, recently established entrepreneurs.
The specific aims are:
The call comprises two lots with two different types of activity: Lot 1: European partnerships enhancing the mobility of up-and-coming entrepreneurs. Lot 2: Coordination, support and networking at European level linked to the action mentioned in lot 1. The expected outputs of the pilot project are: Eligible applicants: Any public entity or private body can participate in this call for proposals. This may include entities or bodies active in the field of entrepreneurship promotion or in the field of transnational placement services, in particular: EFTA/EEA countries (Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switserland) or candidate countries (Croatia, Former Yugoslavian Republic of Macedonia, Turkey) are admitted to participate as project partners. Budget and project duration: The total budget earmarked for the cofinancing of projects amounts to EUR 2 850 000. Financial assistance from the Commission cannot exceed 90 % of the total eligible costs. Lot 1: No grant will amount to more than EUR 140 000. The maximum duration of projects is 18 months. Lot 2: The maximum grant will be EUR 200 000. The maximum duration of the project is 22 months. Activities of lot 1 and lot 2 must start before 31 December 2008.
