"Erasmus for young entrepreneurs" aims to support projects allowing up-and-coming EU entrepreneurs to learn in an experienced entrepreneur's company in another EU Member State. The purpose is to facilitate exchange of experiences and networking.

The objective of the action is to contribute to enhancing entrepreneurship, internationalisation and competitiveness of newly established micro, small and medium-sized enterprises and potential new start-up entrepreneurs in the EU. The activity targets people intending to set up a business and, to a lesser extent, recently established entrepreneurs.

The specific aims are:

exchange of experience and information among entrepreneurs with regard to obstacles and challenges in the creation and development of their businesses; training of up-and-coming entrepreneurs allowing them to successfully start and develop their new business ideas; market access and identification of potential partners for new businesses in other EU countries; inter-cultural learning by developing knowledge and experience of other European countries. The call comprises two lots with two different types of activity: Lot 1: European partnerships enhancing the mobility of up-and-coming entrepreneurs. Lot 2: Coordination, support and networking at European level linked to the action mentioned in lot 1. The expected outputs of the pilot project are: support of a limited number of European partnerships implementation of the mobility of around 870 up-and-coming entrepreneurs to a host entrepreneur in another EU Member State creation of new businesses and spin-off companies development of a network of new entrepreneurs and intermediary organisations Eligible applicants: Any public entity or private body can participate in this call for proposals. This may include entities or bodies active in the field of entrepreneurship promotion or in the field of transnational placement services, in particular: chambers of commerce and industry, chambers of handicrafts or similar bodies, business support organisations and start-up centres, business associations and business support networks, public entities offering business support services, education and training providers (public, private, sectoral etc.) active in the field of business support, training placement organisations. Applicants must be established in an EU Member State. EFTA/EEA countries (Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switserland) or candidate countries (Croatia, Former Yugoslavian Republic of Macedonia, Turkey) are admitted to participate as project partners. Budget and project duration: The total budget earmarked for the cofinancing of projects amounts to EUR 2 850 000. Financial assistance from the Commission cannot exceed 90 % of the total eligible costs. Lot 1: No grant will amount to more than EUR 140 000. The maximum duration of projects is 18 months. Lot 2: The maximum grant will be EUR 200 000. The maximum duration of the project is 22 months. Activities of lot 1 and lot 2 must start before 31 December 2008. The onus is that we add onto whatever we have and the reason why we should add on is that our potential is unlimited, inexaustable, in the infinity. Whatever we have is smaller than our potential.Our mind has never got full despite studying from kindergarten to having our first degree to a PhD!!!!

Money cannot buy happiness nor can it buy love as sang by the Beatles during the 1960s. But money certainly can help people enjoy a lively, dynamic retirement. The issue is not accumulating wealth for its own sake, but rather having access to the financial resources needed to be able to enjoy whatever particular activities and lifestyle people select for themselves.

On Father's Day I'll wander down memory lane and I'll smile knowing my dad, at 60 years of age, is doing likewise.

With many miles between us at times, I'm seldom with Dad on Father's Day and this year was no different. Sure, we'll have a cheerful chat on the phone and he will thank me for his card and gift. Nonetheless, we won't feel cheated by the status of a calendar-for we have oodles of memories to sustain us.

For us, Father's Day is whenever we are fortunate enough to be together. It's not as often as I'd like, but when it happens we have extended visits-not just a few days. Recently I went home and spent an entire month with Dad; each and every day was a joyful celebration! That equals 20 years worth of Father's Days rolled into one get-together-it doesn't get any better than that.

Our month of memory making took us down pathways abundant with twists, turns, and even a few detours. One afternoon we bounced at a friends and straight we went back home

"Ram," Dad said, "don't you think we should bake chapati’s?"

In translation, that meant Ram would you bake chapati’s? His sweet tooth had been deprived of dessert for at least three days-mercy!

"Sure! You just relax while I mix up a batch."

I'd barely begun when I heard when the friend whom we bounced earlier came knocking.. Salaam Aleikum

I soon popped the Chapati’s into the pan. "Dad, how long's it been since you've had icing on your chapatis?"

His eyes twinkled at the thought. "Way too long!"

While I fried the Chapati’s, Dad rode sidekick with Da Guest through the Their old days. At the next commercial, he dismounted and sauntered into the kitchen to clean out the icing bowl, while I expected to hear the clatter of spurs against the kitchen floor.

"What kind of icing is this? I know it's mixed salads but it tastes a little different than usual."

"Dad, it's salad mocha. the TZ style I know Mom made it from time to time."

"Well, if she did, I sure don't remember it!" He left not one smidgen of icing and nearly scraped the finish right off the bowl.

Still smacking his lips, he yanked a recipe card out of a drawer and scribbled down detailed instructions for making salad mocha icing.

Baking chapati’s and icing them for Da Guest's sidekick will most definitely dance through my mind on Father's Day? Still, if I were able to spend the actual occasion with Dad, I know exactly how we'd observe his special day.? That Day made me realize that we might not think about making the best out of moments, to you all

Make you moment your because tomorrow they will stick in your memories

THE African YES attitude, we say that an enterprising person is one who comes across a pile of scrap metal and sees the making of a wonderful sculpture. An enterprising person is one who drives through an old weak part of town and sees a new housing development. An enterprising person is one who sees opportunity in all areas of life.

To be enterprising is to keep your eyes open and your mind active. It's to be skilled enough, confident enough, creative enough and disciplined enough to seize opportunities that present themselves...the Gaetano way, regardless of the economy.

Now Say AIESEC, then a person with an enterprising attitude says, "Find out what you can before action is taken." Do your homework. Do the research. Be prepared. Be resourceful. Do all you can in preparation of what's to come?

Enterprising people always see the future in the present. Enterprising people always find a way to take advantage of a situation, not be burdened by it. And enterprising people aren't lazy. They don't wait for opportunities to come to them, they go after the opportunities. Enterprise means always finding a way to keep yourself actively working toward your ambition.

Enterprise is two things. The first is creativity. You need creativity to see what's out there and to shape it to your advantage. You need creativity to look at the world a little differently. You need creativity to take a different approach, to be different.

What goes hand-in-hand with the creativity of enterprise is the second requirement: the courage to be creative. You need courage to see things differently, courage to go against the crowd, courage to take a different approach, courage to stand alone if you have to, courage to choose activity over inactivity.

And lastly, being enterprising doesn't just relate to the ability to make money. Being enterprising also means feeling good enough about yourself, having enough self worth to want to seek advantages and opportunities that will make a difference in your future. And by doing so you will increase your confidence, your courage, your creativity and your self-worth, your enterprising nature.

So all YES participants take a brave heart and seize opportunities

African YES-A global learning environment

The African Young Entrepreneurs program is developed to enhance Entrepreneurial traits, skills and knowledge to the participants through influential fun learning. In AIESEC we believe that in order to create a suitable for learning environment,the following elements should be in place;

1.Team experiences- Two dimensional learning i.e learning from each other. Thats why every one is a student and teacher at the same time.

2.Mentorship- Throughout the training Participants will hear and learn from successful business entrepreneurs, authors and researchers who will share their experiences and winning strategies in business.An example is Julius Apegu, a leading author and columnist with the Daily Monitor on Entrepreneurship and personal finance,who shared his story of entrepreneurship and lessons learnt (Please read his book;How to create a sustainable business and share the lessons with the rest on this blog).

3. Conferences and seminars- Through the seminars participants will learn the skills that every successful entrepreneur should have.

4.Virtual spaces- A fitting example is this blog you are reading. Its the only we can share our learning experiences with other people who are not part of the training. This blog will also be a good tool for personal reflection for all the participants of the project.

5.Learning circles-These will provide an opportunity for every one to discuss and interesting topic on entrepreneurship.

6.Personal reflections- Imagine if you take off some time in a quiet place and ask yourself questions like, what did i learn today, if you had to do something better today how best will you have done?
